Welcome to the wonderful world of dance competitions. Want to learn more about what to expect at a dance competition and how to afford it if you live paycheck to paycheck? Well then you came to the right place. My name is Abbey and I am a dance mom. I have two daughters and have been involved in the dance scene for 5 years now. This is my third year of competitions and I still remember how scared I was that I would forget something or mess something up before my first one. Ok (shhh don’t tell everyone) but to be honest I still get nervous packing for a competition which is why I made an all inclusive packing list of things I have found that are needed at some time or another while at competitions. Sign up for my bi-weekly newsletter and you can get a free downloadable copy of this list for yourself.
Ballet Bisque is a place where you can find a wealth of information about anything dance related. Here we will discuss Dance competitions, the things you need to pack,(join my mailing list and get access to my free downloadable list) and some helpful hints on making a competition easier on you the parent. I will also touch on some snacks that are great for dancers and kids in general. Sometimes I will bore you with stories of my dancers but I promise to keep those to a bare minimum. Other times I will dazzle you with a Sparkling story full of all the Glitter that goes into dance. I love hearing from you all and if you have any questions feel free to ask and who knows maybe I will answer your question for all to see but I will definately get back to you personally to let you know what I think.
The world of dance is a beautiful place but as you probably already know it can be expensive right now I am working in the foodservice industry (waitress sounds so boring don’t you think?) and still manage to pay all those dance bills as well as my house bills with a lot of help from my husband. With costumes, entrance fees, and lessons it really adds up but there are a few tricks out there to help lower those costs especially if you have a really awesome dance family to be a part of.
